Found a little sparrow in the yard today
He'd fallen from the nest down to the earth
Not big enough to fly
Not frail enough to fracture
So he walked the sod and waited to be saved
Mama worried sick when she came home for him
But when she found him crying in the dust
She turned her beak away
And flew back to her family
And he starved to death alone under that tree
Are you my Provider?
Are you my Provider?
Are you my Provider still?
The sycamore outside lost all its leaves today
Another month and I'll be losing mine
My friends, they always say
The world ain't ready for me
The truth is, I'm not ready for the world
Are you my Provider?
Are you my Provider?
Are you my Provider still?
A piece of fruit is all it takes to kill a man
A cross of wood is bound to do the same
Well, I suffered through them both
And rose up with my savior
I know now that you give me all I need
You are my Provider
You are my Provider
You are my Provider still
